Andres: expansion, then and nowWith the brand names xandres and Hampton Bays, Andres is one of the most successful fashion houses on the Belgian-Dutch market. The company developed from a family business, founded in 1927. During the seventies a conscious choice was made for one specific collection (xandres), a clearly defined target group and a solid marketing strategy. In 1985, Andres N.V. became a full subsidiary of the Santens group, one of the world leaders in towelling, with a view to continued expansion and greater export potential. In addition to the xandres collection, a new line, Hampton Bays, was launched in 1992 for a second target group, a more sporty collection but in the same spirit and completely in harmony with the Andres principles of quality and perfection. Today Andres has expanded to become a completely autonomous company with an annual turnover in excess of 30 million Euros. In recent years Andres has principally invested in establishing its own pilot stores, image and marketing and in attracting suitable foreign sales partners. New niches have been addressed with new collections such as the xandres X-line, xandres Golf and corporate-wear projects. |
